Great moments in sports history (25-1)

You may or may not have been anticipated figure 25-1 of my top 50 greatest moments in sports history list, but I have to do it, if you want.

Just a reminder, this is still just my opinion and I'm in it. Have fun for what it is and I hope a bit 'nostalgic experience for some of you.

25). Kirk Gibson home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series of Dennis Eckert.

The man had a stomach virus and has been involved in two gameslegs hurt, but somehow came through the most memorable home run ever. This man deserves better AA pat on the back and a piece of cake.

24) baseball strike of 1994.

This strike has been involved as early as 8 work stoppages in baseball history have been, but the strike of 94 'was the only one I've seen in my life. The strike took place in the season and lasted from August 12, 1994, April 2, 1995. The entire postseason and World Series were canceled in the same year, leaving many fansshocked and a bit 'harsh.

23) Tiger Woods wins the U.S. Open, Open Championship, PGA Championship in 2000 and a Masters in early 2001.

It 'was the first golfer in the history of the modern Grand Slam, the four major championship titles at the same time keeping. You can love or hate the man, but the trick is damn impressive for anyone.

22) Jack Nicklaus wins Masters at the age of 46 years.

He is the oldest ever to win the Masters Cup, and I looka broken record at any time in the near future. Tiger is a great player, but Jack will always be the greatest player in sports history.

21) vs Stanford, California. - The band will be on the field.

Every football fan or sports in general, he will play this, or just the words "is the band on the field." There were no serious consequences for the game, except that they are / were great rivals. The folly of the band on the field, andMirroring the ball on the playing field ensures that this game will certainly list of professional sports.

. 20) Red Sox win the American League against the Yankees, after being 3-0 in the series.

The attraction is almost impossible, let alone against the New York Yankees. The fact that it was the comeback against the Yankees even more memorable, as these two have a long / viscose rivalry that many plans. The Yankees can suck ... that's all.

19) Wayne GretzkyNHL is the 1989th all-time leading scorer

I recently had in hockey, but I always knew about the successes of Gretzky / record. Wayne had the whole package and it was probably the best all-around player ever bless the sport. It was a good guy and deserves every bit of recognition he received.

18). Nolan Ryan throws his seventh career no-hitter in 1991.

This man was special and the best pitcher I've ever seen. He had a strangeArm - has played 27 seasons - he has never met a serious problem in the arm, which affect their ability to consistently 96-102 mph on the radar gun. Many pitchers these days are waiting to launch non-hitters in his career, but Nolan had the ability, maybe throw a no-hitter in each start.

17) Billie Jean King defeats Bobby Riggs in 1973.

Bobby Riggs had never felt close to women could play on the same level as man. Riggs was 55 when he challenged Billie Jean, the gameand has not established that the woman takes the attributes for an athletic guy. Billie leaned against him and his bright red ass lost in three sets. The women were considered a bit 'different back then.

16) Bill Buckner error in Game 6 of 1986 World Series against the New York Mets.

Unfortunately, this error is that which is best known for Buckner. The Mets tied the game up at the bottom of the 10th inning and had the winning run (Ray Knight) at second base with Mookie Wilsonup to the plate.

15). Cal Ripken Jr. breaks Lou Gehrig's record for most consecutive games won.

Cal played baseball with a huge heart and determination. He was known for his position stop evolving is known, and rightly deserves the "Iron Man" nickname. On September 6, 1995, he starred in his 2131 · play straight, surpassing Lou Gehrig in another big. Children play with professional sports these days, I see that the failed disk any time soon.

14) JesseOwens won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.

I'm sure you all remember that Adolf Hitler character - also known as Dirty Little Bastard Nazi. Hitler did not feel African American athletes were at the same level as German sports and wanted to try it, hosting the Games in Berlin. He could not know, Jesse Owens should not have put him and won 4 gold medals (100m sprint, long jump, 200m sprint and 4 x 100 m relay).

13). Jimmy V and NC StateGame against Houston in the 1983 NCAA Basketball Championship.

NC State were losing big to get into this game - and rightly so, because Houston was led by Clyde Drexler and Olajuwon Hakim. Jimmy V had a solid game plan and no one to hug after the game with a dunk to win more time.

12) Michael Jordan wins sixth NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls.

I know he had teammates, but the Bulls do not win championships without a single type of talent MJ. The man is probably thebest ever to play basketball, and it is difficult to imagine that with everything that has to go. One could also argue that sport has a better a. .. Baseball and basketball was?

11) Doug Flute's Hail Mary against Miami (FL), passed in 1984 Orange Bowl.

Flute was always the "little engine that could" in my head. He was about 5'9 "on a good day, and was based primarily on its ability to scrambling to find a fast lane. Boston College was a bit 'a loser in this game, andEverything seemed to end when all but went to Miami 45-41 with 28 seconds remaining. Flute had other plans, he threw the ball around the midfield in the end zone, and then begin to Gerard Phelan, the ball and win the game.

10) John Isner against Nicolas Mahut in the longest tennis match ever.

This is only a couple of weeks is happening but this is one of the most insane / intense sporting events I've ever seen. If I'm not mistaken, the fifth set alone was longer than any other in the full game of tennisThe history of this sport. The final ended 70-68, which is outrageous, and it seems that a score of NCAA basketball. The sheer effort and will win between the two was just as great, if not better than the game itself.

9) Henry "Hank" Aaron (aka "Hammerin 'Hank") and Babe Ruth as the all-time leading home run.

Hank hit number 715 to 8 April 1874 pushed him past Babe Ruth to keep the record. In my mind, Aaron holds the record for home runs with 755, because BarryGovernment bonds on a kind of elephant steroids, when one is broken. Long live Hammerin 'Hank!

8) Wilt Chamberlain scores 100 points in one game.

What makes this record even more impressive was the fact that there are 3-point line right now. You can read my words, "No one will ever score 100 points in a GAM basketball again." It was and will always be the most dominant big man, always the game. Stand up and give him a round of applause.

7) Pete Rose breaks all-timeRecord high and is banned by baseball Hall of Fame.

A great performance with some bad news. 4256 holds the record for career goals, but he was banned from the Hall of Fame for gambling on baseball. The man has been through enough shit in his life, and although it's a bit 'late, yet he had played on sports ... give him his deserved place in the Hall of Fame already.

6) Michael Phelps wins 8 gold medals at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Ruleor marijuana affects the announcement of his authority may be underestimated for what Michael Phelps be reached at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He passed the former American swimmer Mark Spitz and his record of seven gold medals. For this Michael, I toke my bong in your honor ..... too soon?

5) Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier in the "battle of the century."

This was the first boxing match between Joe Frazier (26-0, 23KOs) and Muhammad Ali (31 -0, 25KOs). The fight took place at Madison SquareGarden, and had to build the biggest hype in the history of boxing. The fight was so started well enough with the first eleven rounds, but Frazier, and continued until 15 Round dominate when the fight was called. It 's very rare for a sporting event live, so much hype, but what was so great.

4) Lou Gehrig's "luckiest man" speech.

This speech was very moving and uplifting. Once the "Lou Gehrig's disease is diagnosed, a large ceremony washeld at Yankee Stadium to help him with his illness. The disease damages motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. "I have given a bad break, but I long to live." - Lou Gehrig

. 3) U.S. hockey team defeated the Soviets in the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid "Miracle on Ice".

Who knows the "Miracle on Ice" had to understand there would be high on the list. In fact, many of the sports top 50/100 I saw this place the number 1Memory. The victory was won without a doubt the biggest for an American team in any Olympics. I say this because the Soviets dominated hockey for many years and were the absolute favorite in this game. There were not so many Americans who thought that we could have won, but somehow we pulled it out. Do not Believe In Miracles ?!?!?!?!?

2) Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball join the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Bud Fowler is technically the first African American to play baseballbig leagues, but Jackie was the first modern black player. It opened the way for many other players blacks, and helped break racial segregation in baseball. His influence on the sport was not all that he did, however, won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1947, played in six World Series and helped the Dodgers win the World Cup 1955.

. 1) AFFECT OKLAHOMA Boise State 43-42 in overtime for the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.

This may not be the greatest moment in sportHistory, but it's my story. This saw is undoubtedly the biggest game of my eyes the night before. I watched the game from start to finish, never turn the channel - even if the publicity was about. Just when you think of Boise made too many mistakes and played the game, came back and got us all by surprise. I was literally running around the house when the game tied with Boise hook and ladders. I then proceeded to take my shirt and screams like a girl of 4 yearsBoise, when he won in overtime with the "Statue of Liberty." This game was just another proof that the BCS is a steaming pile of garbage and should be completely rid of them. The bowl games can show the money the university, but a playoff system would be much more exciting and really, who is the No. 1 team in the nation.
